Sunrise 2009
[info]peiyanz
I haven't been blogging for half a year!

Well, this entry is to share some of the sunrise photos I have taken in this year. Everyday I need to wake up at the break of dawn for work. My phone will wake me up at 5.50am everyday, then to brush my teeth and face my face before I tend to Chloe's needs, like to clear her pee pan and preparing her breakfast. It was then I notice the sky which can be very very beautiful when the sun is rising!

Isn't these beautiful?? It helped to brighten my mood immediately!!

Olive Run & Scrapbooking day!
[info]peiyanz
Yesterday was my 2nd time attempting 5km run. This time, it was at East Coast PArk!
Woke up as early as a normal school day 6am. Siti Maisarah came and picked me up at khatib by 6.30am. Luckily for her car pool, i wouldn't wan to think how much earlier i must wake up if i was to go myself...

Reached!! I didn't wan to to the orange event tee shirt to run....ok la, wear a green colour nike for Olive Run!
I'm ready!
It was a nice and cooling run and it was really scenic to run besides the sea.....beautiful!
I was going at a faster pace this time and they provided H20 isotonic drink for the water point at the U-turn! I felt a remarkable difference after gulping 2 mouthful! My legs felt a sudden burst of energy and i could go faster at 3.5km mark.
It felt good to turn to the finishing stretch and sprinted towards the end! I felt happy to see the timing displayed there was 34min! It was a 5 min improvement from my Shape Run of 39min! heehehhee...felt so good!

"We still looked good after the run!"

Stood cheering for the rest of my colleagues who completed and we headed to Terminal 2 to have our breakfast.

I came home at around 11.30am and quickly set to bathe and get ready for my next round of activities!
I chanced upon a advertisement in the 8days, Scrapbooking workshop with Canon Selphy. I jio-ed Suki, June n huixian to join while Peiyun jio her friends to join. In the end we joined as a big group of 8.

The workshop was held at Canon Digital Lab at Keppel Bay Tower. We were late by 10mins....hehehehe....
Anyway, it was really fun to print out pictures with Selphy photo printer (which i had bought the hot pink one 2 weeks ago) and we were introduced to the joy of scrapbooking. We were given an introductory set and we started making one page on our own. It was real fun!

"aiyah....exposure to high...."

I'm waiting for June's camera pics....she has all the pics for our completed works!

AFter the workshop, Yun went off with her friends to watch UP while Suki, June and myself went over to Vivo for our late lunch. We were famished, thirsty after the workshop. Pail and Cz were waiting for us at Vivo liao. I suggested Mache because i hadn't got a chance to go in since it is opened....amazing right??

So we went in to have a hearty meal of rostti and deserts! I really loved the decor inside! Cz and I thought that it really looked like Switzerland, it feels like we were back in Lauterbrunnen again......it helps that we were sitting under the blasting cold air con vents....hehhehe....

There...it started.....i suddenly felt  pangs of pains in my stomach and this was how my diarrhea started. I went to the toilet for more than 5 times last night! I think it's because of the minced pork noodles i had at T2 foodcourt....

But amazingly, my day was not finished yet.....June went off after the Mache meal, so Cz suggested that we checked out the Comics convention at Suntec! Yeah!!!
So we went along....On the way there, Cz bought poh chai pills for me and i started gulping down 1 bottle.

The comics convention never fails to excite me!! There are many new exciting games on display, cute toys on display and this time we got to take pictures with fan favourites characters like Bumblebee, Ironman, Mario and Luigi! (Pictures are with Cz coz my camera ran out of batt again!)

The highlight of the whole trip got to be the chance meeting with Simone Legno, Tokidoki's creator!!!!!! We spotted him standing around, surrounded by a small group of girls and he was signing on their tokidoki cap! I quickly whipped out my tokidoki camera pouch and asked him to sign too!!!! And i stood besides him to take a photo! Wow! He was so humble and modest even though his designs are world famous now!!! Cool!!!!!!

After this, we had a quick and simple dinner at Xin Wang. Dunno why, we all had instant noodles craving...hahhahaa....

We headed back to Vivo after dinner. 10pm.....Still have 2 hours to burn before our midnight Bruno movie.....I was pretty sleepy by then....we went over to Starbucks to sit around, chit chat and nuah.....Pail's friends were there too, playing a card game that i have never heard of till last night...."Vampires". It looked similar to Magic cards but Pail explained that it was more complex and harder to play that Magic cards.....ohhhhh......

Anyway, 12 midnight gradually crept up and we were on our way to watch it! I had pretty high expectations after the surprisingly hilarious Borat movie in 2006. But i was pretty disappointed by the movie....it was not as hilarious as Borat and it was a bit disgusting....hahhahhaa.....But gotta salute the bravery of Sasha Baron Cohen...he was realy brave to do some of the "acts" in the movie....

That sums up my very very long Saturday....Zzzzzzz

Run, Peiyan, Run!!!
[info]peiyanz
Today i went for Sports For Life 2.4km Run Assessment.
Pavri and Fiona went with me as well...They joined this a couple of years back, and this yeas, i came with them.

Didn't train for this run as well, and i think it was harder than running 5km because i need to have speed for this 2.4km run in order to get at least a bronze.

Thinking back, running 12min for 2.4km during my prime (JC days) took a lot of effort and training and I was wondering how much slower i will be running today.

We were late for the 1st batch of run, which started at about 7.45am. We waited for our turn and watched the 1st batch of runners. There was this slim built, tan woman leading the pack of runners and we were like gawking at her super toned legs. Her speed and pacing was so fast that she finished 2.4km in 9.06min! Bravo!

Next, the organisers arranged that the 1st batch of walkers to walk before the 2nd batch of runners run. And we saw this guy who was wearing a white skin tight top with super short fire engine red shorts. OMG....and he was so "stylo" with ipod and all, but he was taking part in the 2km walk assessment....Chey!!!! so stylo for wat?!!

Anyway, it was our turn finally....and the hot sun is out too...damn!
I wanted to follow Fiona's pace but she was too fast for me...(she runs regularly...unlike me...)
So i was huffing and puffing.....1st round completed in 2min....2nd round in 2.25min.... 3rd round 2.30min.......in the end I only managed a 15min for the end of 6 rounds..bronze..it was so tiring....
It felt good again to sweat it all out....got a sports wrist watch as souvenir and a H2O isotonic drink.....

I'm going to run my 1st 5km run tomorrow!!!! So exciting!!!
Finally, i got the chance to take part in this annual Shape Run which has garnered so much popularity over the years....I remembered signing up for it a few years back and all i got back was a rejection letter from the organisers, saying that due to overwhelming responses they need to reject some runners....(Back then, there were no online booking yet.....)

So, i am wondering how well can i run tomorrow?? Will i come back last???? hehehhe...
I did not train for this....guess i just have to grit through my teeth and endure the whole run!

Strangely, once i got registered for my 1st run this year, other runs started sneaking into my life...
I got signed up for my Sports For Life 2.4km run assessment this 1st August. Then there is the 17th August MOE-Olive Run at East Coast too, i'll be joining in the mixed team 5km run too!!! hehehhe...

Sis asked to join kick-boxing classes and i agreed too!! I hope to try Yoga lessons too!
Say Yeah to a healthy lifestyle again!!!

Merry Merry Christmas 2008
[info]peiyanz
24th Dec 2008

On christmas Eve, Darling and I went to Orchard 1st and the whole place was sooo crowded with ppl doing last min shopping (including me...heheee..) I got to buy the last part of yin's christmas present and i ended up buying her a diary 2009 at Kino. =)

Then, to escape the madness at Orchard, we proceeded to Clarke Quay for dinner. I was actually craving for Japanese Ramen again despite having just came back from Japan a couple days ago. But I got distracted by the steak shop at the basement called Fine Cuts. (Braveheart!!! Steak!!!) Anyway, we wanted to try this for a long time yet no chance so I thought why not have steak instead. And it's christmas eve, we should eat something ang moh-ish rite?

So we settled in on a christmas set for darling and mine USA kurobuta pork chops.
Photo frenzy while waiting for our dinner to be served.

The chefs preparing our meal...

I'm a proud owner of my Samatha Thavasa!!!!

"What cuts to u want?"

"Would u like some red wine?"

"Really dun want??" (act cute)

Ah....my food has arrived...

"I also want to take pic of my food!"

Overall, i feel that the food is fantastic!!! Really nicely marinated meat plus really appetizing salad...
Fine cuts is approved by Peiyan!

25th Dec 2008

On Christmas day, I met up with yin and ane for the movie Australia at AMK Hub.
Yin and I was late and we ended up running towards the cinema and we were 15mins late for the movie....blur blur me thought it's 2.45pm instead of 2.35pm.....boohoo..i hate to miss movie openings.....arghhh....

Anyway, the movie was really great...i felt entertained though the movie was about 3hrs long....Both leads were so good looking, Nicole Kidman looked ravishing in all her costumes (i like the jockey suit she wore while she was riding, so nice!) and Hugh Jackman was the ultimate hunk there! yum!! hahaha....

After that, we made our way back to Sembawang and we were early. Cz was not there yet. I actually dread to wait at Sembawang MRT station coz i dun wan to see any of my students while i'm enjoying my hols...
so we started walking slowly towards Admiral Bar and Grill. Luckily we managed to get a table despite not reserving any. I think the crowd will only come later. 6pm is really early. hehhehee....so we settled down and Amigochoy arrived shortly. Oops...not amigochoy lah, it's Odinchoy.
While we were deciding what to eat, a over-zealous waitress kept bugging us to ask us whether are we ready to order. I was thinking, "oh no, another of those over zealous waiter/waiteress?! recap: last year's Tao's also got one irritating waiter" But luckily, after we've ordered, everything returned to normal.
So we exchanged presents while waiting for our food!

yin got me this...i was wondering what's this....i never have guessed that she'll buy Tales of the Beetle the bard for me!

a super nice nike gym bag from yin as well!! Cool!

Alright, the food soon arrived and we had to halt our present "ripping" session!

Seafood Combo

yin is happy with her mixed grill!

er....i think odinchoy expressed more happiness in his.....prawn....

while we decided to take some pretty shots will do...

ok....odinchoy managed to influence his crazy happiness in prawns to yin...

"argh...go back and eat ur prawn lah!"

let me see what paparazzi shots u have taken for the night?"

hmm....i wonder what yan bought for me from japan??"

ah...just open and see lah!

For the info, i bought yin a diary 2009, a Majolica mascara (Gorgeous wing), Integrate lipgloss and a packet of crystal nail stickers.

Music-Man!!!
[info]peiyanz
I cut my hair again....to shorter length this time!! Haven had my hair so short since JC days!!! (which is 8-9yrs ago)

A series of mock-paparazzi photos....

Finally, here is a proper pic! And check out my Music-Man concert Tee!! Woohoo!!!

And we went "jumping" too! hehehe...

Music-Man concert is one of the best Lee-Hom concert i ever been to!!! And i got to grabbed hold of his hand!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
He sang many songs that he had not sang before "live" and he sang them last night!

And he was super entertaining and "high"! His physique is at his best now, with rippling muscles, bulging pectoral muscles and fab eight pecs!! Sun Yan zi and Kit Chen were there swooning over him in the front row....

He came off stage very very early in the concert, causing us to run and squeeze our way towards the front. Peiyun managed to shake his hand at that point but i didn't. The 2nd time was when he performed a magic trick where he was "teleported" to the back of the stadium where the ppl went wild and never expected their backrow seats were the best seats of the night!! He was right there with all of them! Cool! As he made his way down the aisle to the stage, we ran to the aisle and wait for him. It was then, i saw my chance and grabbed his hand!! hhahahaha...i know it was so crazy but you cant help when you see him just right in front of you, within reach....hahhahahaa...

After that, it was a blur, the security guards were pushing everyone away and in the process, many ppl got literally dragged along in that mad pushing. My sis was one of them. After i got freed, i grabbed hold of her and pulled her back or else she might have a danger of getting trampled on.
Phew.....such an exciting night! The stage lights and big screens were fantastic (except for a small gitch in the big screen in the 1st part of the concert).

Here are some photos taken by paparazzi Choy:

Eagerly waiting for his new album to release!!1

My new haircut!!!

Went to have a happy happy night out at Wala Wala after dinner!

Cz also had his hair cut too!!

Escape to Japan....and back....
[info]peiyanz
I'm back from Kawaii-land....

Having serious hangovers for Japan...think i'm so missing everything in Japan.....i even went out with Cz to eat Mos burger for lunch and Japanese food for dinner....I miss the food there!!! I miss the vending machines there!! I miss the cool weather there!! I miss the kawaii kids there!!! I miss the excellent service there!! I miss the supermarkets there which have every brand of cosmetic that i love!!!!!

Everything went well for my trip, the food was good (Oshii!!), the hotels were luxurious, the service and the people were so nice and good that i'm so overwhelmed with gratitude. Except my friend, Steph fell ill at the 2nd day of the trip....

I shall post my pictures soon when i consolidate my pictures with Fiona and Steph's ones.

Sigh, when the plane touched down yesterday, my heart just sank coz it's back to Singapore, back to reality...

I still have my work review and my course assignments to finish before school starts....
Next week will be the last week of hols, i'm leaving to Vietnam for my staff retreat...

Jumping off to Japan!
[info]peiyanz
Hey pple,

in a few hours more, i'll be heading towards Changi Airport and on my way to Japan!!!
I'm so excited now that i cant really sleep!
Packing my stuff now (still packing despite starting to pack from sunday onwards...), and i can still find some stuff that i forgot to bring. But the important thing which is my passport is already in my bag...
Well, i really hope that this trip will be a good start for my future explorations to this Land of the Rising Sun, I called it the Land of endless "kawaii" stuff and temptations! hehhehee....
Well, i'll make sure i'll take loads of photos back, with my newest camera in tow!

My ugly wound on my left knee is still there....still very ugly....that's a major blip in my trip and a major blip for my quest to look beautiful in Kawaii-land! Well, that din stopped me from wanting to wear shorts there! hehhehee...
anyway, i'm hoping that the wound will start peeling off in these few days....then i'll have a smaller wound to hide in the photos!

Ok, i think i better stop now and finish my packing and try to get some slp....
I wouldn't want my first day of my trip with my eyes looking all puffed up!

Sayonara folks!!
P/s: i'll have something for everyone back!

[info]peiyanz
I finally booked my trip to Japan!! Years of yearning, days of dreaming of Japan finally becoming a reality
for me!

Went to NATAS fair on Friday - 1st day of the fair, with Fiona. We wanted to beat the crowds on a Saturday afternoon, that's why we choose to go on friday. After the long tiring journey from Sembawang to Expo, we reached! Phew, luckily we were correct. The place wasn't that crowded. Many people were the "earlier birds" who purposely took leave to go NATAS fair. They were dragging red luggage out, among other freebies.

We need to pay $3 for the entrance fee. Once inside, you will find tons of pamphlets flashed in front of you, you have no choice but to take it.

Fiona and I had a clear objective in mind. We wanted a fun tour, preferably 7 or more days, more shopping trip than cultural trip. So Tokyo is very much in our mind. We finally settled at Hong Thai Travel corner, looking through their packages.
There was a 7 days - The Best of Honshu package that caught our eyes! We will be departing on 2nd June 2008.

Day 1:
Take the earliest flight 8am to Tokyo - Narita International Airport
Reach there, it'll be free n easy day for us to explore and to shop at Tokyo! Wow!!

Day 2:
It'll be off to Tokyo Disneyland!! We'll spend the whole day there, having fun!

Day 3:
Take cruise ride across Tokyo Bay to Odaiba Park.
Then to Palette Town - Mega Web
West Mall where Venus Fort is located.
Aqua City Odaiba
Cultural landmark - Asakusa Kannon Temple
Shinjuku (Red-light district)
Evening time - to Lake Kawaguchi at Mt. Fuji to rest for the night.
At the hotel, we will have our own hot spring bath to enjoy!

Day 4:
Up to 5th station at Mt. Fuji to view the magnificent mountain!
Hakone - view rolling mountains, greenery and beautiful lake
Owakudani Boiling Valley - sulphurous boiling ponds where you can cook eggs there
Peace Park
Take bullet train to Toyohashi station.

Day 5:
To Kyoto - Kiyomizu Temple
Gion (Former Geisha district)
Kimono show
Kingakuji Temple - "Golden Pavilion"
"Shinsaibashi" - busiest shopping district at Kyoto

Day 6:
To Osaka! Upon reaching, we will head directly to Universal Studios!

Day 7:
Last day, after breakfast to transfer to Narita Airport for departure

BUT......how can our trip end like this?!!

We decided to extend our stay by 2 to 3 days! We want to explore around on our own. So whether we choose to stay in Osaka or make our way back Tokyo, we are staying! hehehhe...
I cant wait!!!

My last week of June Hols, i will be going to Vietnam as part of our staff retreat!
So exciting! I always wanted to go explore Vietnam as well, so this trip really comes at the right time!
So i'll be leaving on 16th June to 19th June 2008. Details to be finalised later!!
Saigon, here I come too!!!!

Xmas 2007
[info]peiyanz
Today's Boxing Day.
We are supposed to open up our christmas presents on this day but.......we are always too excited to open our presents the moment we received them.
I am very happy to receive such nice gifts this year...

Thanks to Huixian for giving me the beautiful, shimmering like diamonds Chanel lipgloss for me and also a Shiseido Body contour body mist. Thanks to Siyin for giving me the very useful and handy Rowenta hair dryer...hopefully i dun get bad hair days in the next year! And she also gave me a Chanel nail polish, it's the most beautiful and perfect deep red, in my opinion!
Thanks to CZ aka Darling for me the most coveted, and lust-after LOEWE wallet in electric green! The whole wallet is made from Loewe's famous Napa leather, it's very very soft to touch. I'll treasure it and hopefully can use for 10 years!

On Christmas Eve, Huixian, Siyin and I met up to exchange presents and to have our christmas dinner.
After racking our brains to think of a venue for our dinner, Huixian got us a booking at Tao's restaurant at Paradiz Centre. It's a modern fusion restaurant. Seems not bad...
But we soon realised that the service of that restaurant was "too good" for our comfort.
Waiters popped out beside us every 5 minutes asking whether the food was good enough, clearing our plates the second we put down our fork and spoon, offering to take our pictures even though i just want to take pics of the food, and etc...
Yin said that she felt so stressed eating coz the waiters were so efficient and fast and that makes you want to eat fast too.

Anyway, the restaurant's menu has a total of eight categories for your meal there. For each catergory, you can have a choice of about 5 items to choose from. However, some items are fixed for every meal.

As a start, we were served with a cup of tea - green tea with something else that makes the tea very floral smell.
Then we were served their "must-try" (as claimed by the zealous waiter) - cheese gratin with bacon and mushroom, served with lightly toasted bread.

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Photobucket
We reluctantly gave in to the enthusiastic waiter and let him took a picture of me and yin!

Next, our appetisers - ham and spud(potato), farmboy's salad (chicken) and japanese fruits salad.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Xian was very happy with her fruits salad!

Photobucket

Then, another fixed item on the menu, which was the grilled mushroom.
A tad bit on the salty side....

Photobucket

At this stage, we were quite full and our main course was not here yet!!
Then, the waiters came with queer little pots and they announced that these were our soups!
Yin and I ordered Cream of pumpkin.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Sweet and savoury....yum....if there were chunks of pumpkins will be nicer...

Xian ordered fish soup. It came in a nice little chinese looking pot. To drink the soup, just pour the contents onto a small dish and drink it. So cool!

Photobucket

They also served our pots of iced teas. I ordered peach tea, xian ordered grape with mellow tea and yin ordered rose and apple tea. The teas tasted nice and refreshing but xian's grape tea was a bit too sweet.

Photobucket

Finally, our main course!

This was my main course - baby lobster with spagetti in white wine sauce.
Photobucket

Verdict - i dun like the spagetti because it was too creamy....and the baby lobster was quite ok, just that it tasted like clayfish...

Yin's main course - oven roasted steak cooked medium rare

Photobucket
Picture taken by Siyin

Verdict - Not too bad...could be tender a bit...

Xian's baked cheese flounder

Photobucket
Picture taken by huixian

Verdict - nice! Mostly eaten up by me because xian was too full and I dun like my spagetti.

Desserts time!

Yin and Xian ordered poached pear while I ordered balck (oops, that's how it was spelled on the menu!) Black sesame pudding.

Photobucket
Photobucket

After eating, we drank our tea slowly and began exchanging our presents!

Photobucket
Look how nicely wrapped was Yin's christmas presents by Chanel!

We made each other guessed the presents first before we could open up the presents. It was so much fun!

After dinner, we made our way to AMK Hub for our movie - The Golden Compass.
It was a very nice show! I loved the kids "demons" which were cute and cuddly animals. The ice bears (which looked exactly like our polar bears) were so majestic! Eagerly awaiting for the second part of the trilogy to come!

Today went shopping with Eveline, Jill and Rainette. Eveline and Rainette finished their exams today! And Eveline going back teaching tml! So fast!!

(Anyway, I'm supposed to be studying not blogging!!!)

We went to eat Sakae at Wheelock (yeah, i'm forced to eat Sakae- my most hated 'Japanese' sushi restaurant). End up taking lotsa funny photos. Will post here once i got them from Jill. Den we went shopping crazy at Far EAst Plaza. Eveline was on a hunt for bag for work. And we accompanied her. But girls being girls, we bought a thousand and one other things exccept for bags at Far East. Hehehehhee....No lah, i very guai, only got a green cropped cardigan - $15! Was very tempted to get accessories but......wait till i got my pay first!
At 4pm, i went over Tangs to trim my eyebrows. Finally neat brows again! Yippee!!
I met up with the girls again at Taka. I recommend Eveline to find her bag at the Bags and Shoes Fair at Taka atrium. Finally after looking at so many bags, she settled on a while Perlini's bag. Nice!!
We went over to Orchard Emerald because Jill wanted to thread her eyebrows at Rupini's. I love this place too, i always go their Yishun branch to thread too! In the end, i thread my upper lip there as well. No more "manly" moustache for me!Ha! Very happy, neat brows and no moustache!

Then, we went over to Robinsons. (We very happening hor?! From Wheelock to Far EAst to Tangs to Taka to Centrepoint!) Jill wanted to get some ear plugs for her upcoming Taiwan trip. hahhaa..reason: cannot say.
Then we went shop at Cold Storage, Eveline wanted to get some groceries because she wanted to make Vienamnese rolls for her bf tonight. Wah, her bf is very very lucky to have Eveline as his gf coz she can make the nicest food!!! got "kou fu".
Then darling popped by after his exams. The girls bid me goodbye as they are going home for dinner. I went over to OG fancl with darling. Lee Yan was there and she was so busy unpacking the stuff that had just arrived (psst! the new LE Fancl Mild Cleansing oil is here!!! Very cute design!!) I was about to get the Inner Active Pack when Lee Yan said she will give me samples to go home and try 1st before purchasing. Very good of her because in order to get the samples, normally have to buy the Washing powder den got give samples.
Then i got 3 packs of kale juice, 1 box of tense up, 1 pack of AC control and 1 pack of Vit C. And i got 4 bottles of Tense up, 1 bottle of perfect slim and 2 packs of sebum care pack free!!! And i used $100 voucher + $12.40 of rebate OG vouchers to redeem. End up paying only $37.80 for so much stuff! I'm always very happy after getting fancl stuff. Got free stuff and good deals! I'm a happy girl! Hahahahah!

Review: Tried the Inner Active pack just now. It's really good!!!!! But i've to avoid areas where i've pimples. But i can see my other parts of the skin more radiant and hydrated! Whahahhahaa!

Fancl Skincare Workshop
[info]peiyanz
Yesterday i went for the Fancl Skincare Workshop (@Fancl's HQ). Met up with xian at Khatib 1st and we made our way down to Novena, United Square. Upon reaching United Square, we went up to the 21st storey and there was a Fancl Beauty Advisor greeting us.
We were slightly late but the workshop had not started. hehehe....I saw many familiar faces among the people who were already seated in the training room. Those were the same people who went for the fancl focus group too. Ha....anyway, i saw Lee Yan, Fancl BA at OG orchard. I feel that she looked like Joanne Peh when she smiles because of her cute dimples. She recognised me as well coz our names are quite similar. hehhee..anyway, we were given hot green tea (Fancl's one of coz!) and blankets in case we were cold. Wah, immediately i felt like i'm in an airplane. hehhee....
The workshop started awhile later after we were all settled. The trainer was a cute and pretty lady because she speaks in such a cute manner. She went through the presentation slides that educate us with the fundamentals of skincare. Very important! And she also demonstrates the way to wash our face with fancl's washing powder. She had such fun foaming that made me want to play with my foam at night too! hhehehhee...
The highlight of the workshop (Surprise suprise that it wasn't anything to do with skincare) was the refreshments that they served!!! We were so pampered by the food they served!

Xian is in love with this! The nugget has so meat in it but yet it tasted so firm! It has bits of seaweed, brown rice and tofu, fried to a golden brown outer covering! Yummy!

tiramisu with brown rice
This is sooo good!! I never expect that brown rice goes sooo well with cream and chocolate! I dun feel sinful at all after eating this! hahahha!

Just looked at the exquisite food served! Sorry for the poor photography because i din bring along my camera and those were taken using my hp cam. But let me shared my excitment of eating the food with all of u!
The fancl BAs shared that they had a Japanese chef to make all these refreshments using all fancl products! We were all amazed! We have never attended a workshop where they served such good food and such good service! Xian commented that Fancl should open a cafe selling all these food! Then the fancl BA shared that in Japan, in Ginza square, fancl really has a 10 storey high building which has everything we want from fancl! From facials services, to selling of the products to cafe!!!! OMG! After hearing this, it has further spurred me on to save and plan for a Japan trip asap!!! I must go to that place!
http://www.fancl.co.jp/fh/shopinfo/square_food.html Check this out!
I can imagine myself sitting there in a lazy afternoon, sipping green tea, eating yummy desserts and watching the lovely japanese ladies in impecable makeup and flawless skin walking by. Wow!!! I cant wait to go Japan!

Anyway after satisfying our stomach needs, the workshop went on. We learn the fianl steps of skincare and sun protection. After that, the cute trainer revealed that Fancl will be launching a new product in June. It's actually a new improved version of white essence! And we were all given samples to try at home!! Yeah! And we were also given our door gifts which includes a trial pack of their skincare set, a travel sized mild cleansing oil, samples of evante skincare set, a small carrier, foaming ball, 2 bottles of tense up Ex and $30 fancl vouchers (which is the fee that each participant paid for the workshop). We were also encouraged to try their skin analysis there. It's my 1st time trying it. I was abit scared to do it because the machine can magnify the skin to many many times! The friendly BA scanned skin on my hand first then my face. She compared both pictures and commented that my face is actually very dry on the inside. I can see that many tiny microscopic lines on the surface of my face because if dryness. Whereas my hand is perfectly healthy! I have to mask and scrub 3 times a week and be hardworking to moisturize and moisturize!
I really enjoyed my morning with the Fancl stuff because they are really friendly, geniunely providing the best service they can provide. I can safely say that i will be sticking to fancl for the rest of my life!

Ok, that's all for the update of the Fancl workshop! Xian and I had agreed that we are going to all future fancl workshops, no matter the content because we want to eat the fancl food again! Ha!!!

New Hammie!
[info]peiyanz
Today my sis came home and told me she got a big surprise for me!!
Heart heart warned me not to shout or make any big movements, and after promising, i opened my sis' bag.
And my oh my! A pair of bright eyes stared back at me in a small pink cage! A cute little hammie is in the cage! She appeared to be stuned by the appearance of me. hehhee...She's so cute, like a little furball!

We waited for mummy and daddy to slp before bringing out our old hammie's cage and start preparing a new home for new hammie. We are still thinking of a name for the new hammie. "Clever?" or "Cleft?" (Because this hammie has got a small defect at her mouth, looked like a cleft lip). "黑白配?“ ”小龙包?“ Think i'll settle for the last name. seems cute! hehehe...
I wonder what will mummy say when she wakes up several hours later. She will probably screams at us and woke everyone up!

Anyway, Darling havent done this before and i think anyone who's reading this blog should do their ecological footprint. Everyone must make an effort to save the Earth. Start by using less air-con ba....

A Tribute to Hammie 2
[info]peiyanz
My beloved Hammie no.2 died on 26th March 2007. She was the active sister of Hammie no.1. They were from the same mother hamster. Actually they were the last two from the batch of hamsters born from the same mother. We are lucky to have these two hamsters! They were the healthiest and longest living ones!

Anyway, Hammie 2 lived for 2 years and 5 months. She had lived a happy and peaceful life and she died naturally of old age.

Hammie 2 just loved to eat carrots! the above 2 photos showed her nibbling at the carrots, holding with her own paws. Just how happy and cute she looked!

Hammie 2 just loved the feel of freshly laid hay in a nice clean cage. She just loved to dig and dig!

"Quick! Food galore!" Hammie 2 loved to rush to the food bowl and dig again! Every "gua zi" will be devoured up by her in a day!

Hey! What are looking at? I'm doing my potty business!"

My 1st Blood donation
[info]peiyanz
I cant believe tat i did not blog for 2 months! hehehhe...(What's new?)
Anyway, I've been slacking, busy, slacking, busy these 2 months.
FYP gonna due this end of month, tml i've meeting with my prof regarding my draft. I'm soooo scared! It's the same feeling as getting exam results, no....i think this one is worse!

Well, in the midst of rushing to complete thousand and one stuff this month, today is the day I'm so proud of myself!! Not because i've finished my FYP or my essays....but i managed to overcome my fear and went for blood donation at NTU today!!
My friends, Clarice and Debbie, asked me along today. I din even know the blood donation thingy until this morning. All these years i've been wanting to try but i cant overcome the fear that it'll be painful. I've seen how thick the needle was and i was freaking out! I can still remember that during JC year 2, there was a blood donation drive in school. I accompanied my bball friend to go for the donation. I was there, holding on to my registration form and waiting in line after my friend. But when i saw that needle, i withdraw! So chicken leh!!!

But today, i can hold my head up high, wind beneath my foot steps and halo above my head to say," I've conquered my fear!! And i've saved a life using my blood!" The satisfaction i had from seeing my blood flowing out into the bag besides me was so so much!!!
Debbie was joked saying that "we could join Miss Singapore le, we are as noble as Eunice Oslen!" hahahha!!!

The process started when we had to fill up forms, declare this, declare that. Then we go and see the doc, where she asked questions about medical history, double confirm whether everything i filled was correct. Then, we waited for our blood to be tested. When it was my turn, the nice nurse pricked my fourth finger and drew out some blood samples. She dropped the few drops into a container of blue liquid. My blood became like a ball and slowly sink downwards. So cool!! My blood is "heavy" enough!! Got lotsa iron in me. Hee.... When it's Debbie's turn, her blood did not sink but hovering around the liquid. The nice nurse took some more samples onto a slide and put it into another machine. She was given the green light to donate after that.
Now, for the real thing! I was actually sweating cold sweat by now. hhehehe...i'm thinking "S***...y must i pass all the tests?" hehehhe...After much waiting and kept drinking lotsa water, it was my turn!!!
I was led to one of seats and i lie down and waited...and wait...
Debbie was 1st. hehehe....can see her getting ready to faint liao...
The nurse came over and test whether can find my vein. She tested left hand, she said quite small but still can. Right hand will be easily buised...so cannot. In the end, left hand.
ok....ok.....the nurse came with all the empty bags and containers, fresh needles and everything.
This is it! I calmed my nerves and let the nurse do everything. Boohoo....
She tighten the air pressure pump and i can feel my bloood ready to burst out of my veins!
Then she apply anteseptic lotion, like applying butter. Then she insert the anesthesia needle, and it's not painful at all. After that, she waited awhile. I can feel my left forearm numbing. So cool!! Then i watched her insert the big fat needle and my blood immediately flow into the bag. Wow! no pain still!
It's amazing!
hehehhe...so proud that everything ends well! After filling up the bag full of my dark red blood, the nurse told me apply pressure on the wound. Huda was telling me that her friend did not apply pressure immediately after the nurse pulled out the needle and the blood came gushing out! So scary!!
After taht, the nurse bandaged my arm. Others have nicer coloured bandages like pink with hearts, green with animals, purple and mine was ordinary white with words" Give Blood" printed all over.....

Ok, from now onwards, i want to donate blood every year!! Yeah! I'm on my way to become a saint! hehehhe...
