Today's Boxing Day.
We are supposed to open up our christmas presents on this day but.......we are always too excited to open our presents the moment we received them.
I am very happy to receive such nice gifts this year...
Thanks to Huixian for giving me the beautiful, shimmering like diamonds Chanel lipgloss for me and also a Shiseido Body contour body mist. Thanks to Siyin for giving me the very useful and handy Rowenta hair dryer...hopefully i dun get bad hair days in the next year! And she also gave me a Chanel nail polish, it's the most beautiful and perfect deep red, in my opinion!
Thanks to CZ aka Darling for me the most coveted, and lust-after LOEWE wallet in electric green! The whole wallet is made from Loewe's famous Napa leather, it's very very soft to touch. I'll treasure it and hopefully can use for 10 years!
On Christmas Eve, Huixian, Siyin and I met up to exchange presents and to have our christmas dinner.
After racking our brains to think of a venue for our dinner, Huixian got us a booking at Tao's restaurant at Paradiz Centre. It's a modern fusion restaurant. Seems not bad...
But we soon realised that the service of that restaurant was "too good" for our comfort.
Waiters popped out beside us every 5 minutes asking whether the food was good enough, clearing our plates the second we put down our fork and spoon, offering to take our pictures even though i just want to take pics of the food, and etc...
Yin said that she felt so stressed eating coz the waiters were so efficient and fast and that makes you want to eat fast too.
Anyway, the restaurant's menu has a total of eight categories for your meal there. For each catergory, you can have a choice of about 5 items to choose from. However, some items are fixed for every meal.
As a start, we were served with a cup of tea - green tea with something else that makes the tea very floral smell.
Then we were served their "must-try" (as claimed by the zealous waiter) - cheese gratin with bacon and mushroom, served with lightly toasted bread.

We reluctantly gave in to the enthusiastic waiter and let him took a picture of me and yin!
Next, our appetisers - ham and spud(potato), farmboy's salad (chicken) and japanese fruits salad.
Xian was very happy with her fruits salad!
Then, another fixed item on the menu, which was the grilled mushroom.
A tad bit on the salty side....
At this stage, we were quite full and our main course was not here yet!!
Then, the waiters came with queer little pots and they announced that these were our soups!
Yin and I ordered Cream of pumpkin.
Sweet and savoury....yum....if there were chunks of pumpkins will be nicer...
Xian ordered fish soup. It came in a nice little chinese looking pot. To drink the soup, just pour the contents onto a small dish and drink it. So cool!
They also served our pots of iced teas. I ordered peach tea, xian ordered grape with mellow tea and yin ordered rose and apple tea. The teas tasted nice and refreshing but xian's grape tea was a bit too sweet.
Finally, our main course!
This was my main course - baby lobster with spagetti in white wine sauce.
Verdict - i dun like the spagetti because it was too creamy....and the baby lobster was quite ok, just that it tasted like clayfish...
Yin's main course - oven roasted steak cooked medium rare
Picture taken by Siyin Verdict - Not too bad...could be tender a bit...
Xian's baked cheese flounder
Picture taken by huixian Verdict - nice! Mostly eaten up by me because xian was too full and I dun like my spagetti.
Desserts time!
Yin and Xian ordered poached pear while I ordered
balck (oops, that's how it was spelled on the menu!) Black sesame pudding.
After eating, we drank our tea slowly and began exchanging our presents!
Look how nicely wrapped was Yin's christmas presents by Chanel! We made each other guessed the presents first before we could open up the presents. It was so much fun!
After dinner, we made our way to AMK Hub for our movie - The Golden Compass.
It was a very nice show! I loved the kids "demons" which were cute and cuddly animals. The ice bears (which looked exactly like our polar bears) were so majestic! Eagerly awaiting for the second part of the trilogy to come!
